Stripes and Sunshine

Hello again! I haven't posted quite do recently as I've been working on some art, like making inked watercolor designs, which I might post later, as well as reading... I finished Insurgent, and though I wasn't wowed much by Divergent, this one had a plot twist that was really original! So now I've gotten Allegiant and we shall see what I think of the series as a whole. Today after yoga...which is basically the only sort of exercise I'm interested in.. I'm not a sports person, I went up to a room in my building that has some nice open windows that let in streams of light...I think it was quite good for photos.

*squints at the sun*

My outfit:
Top- a sort of cotton-y, linen-y shirt from a French lady's clothing stand...funnily, a woman who designed sweaters remarked to me how much she liked the cut and design...as do I!
Shorts- Forever 21...so soft and easy for lounging about with a cute slouchy cut
Belt- Genius Outfitters
Cardigan- Gap... I've been layering this thing with everything basically
Flats: Old Navy
Headband- Claire's
Leggings- some random mini Macy's in a Maui hotel...

Awkward selfie

I've done a small diy, btw...repainting an old bulletin board of mine for a classier look

Ultrecht acrylic paint from Blick, layered practically 100(not really) times on the cork

Look, much better...a bit of the blue shines through and it looks a little shabby-chic

I hope you have a good day :)

Waiting for the Mountains to Fall

I went to the Twilight Concert Series at the Santa Monica pier! It was pretty nice, though kinda chilly and there were tons of people picnicking and whatnot. The performer was Yuna, a really good Malaysian singer! She seemed really nice, thought he stage was far. She makes a lot of floaty hand gestures~ she actually asked if it was alright for her to sing more! and said things like "Perfect!". It was nice to go, but with the crowd being people standing still or lovey dovey couples, my mom and I ended up leaving a bit later on...it was quite dark out and it was a casual beach concert. However, Yuna's singing voice was as lovely and strong as in the recordings! The post title is a song lyric from the song Mountains, by her. I did get some nice pictures, btw, which I thought looked very summery. In fact the beach was gorgeous. While the sun was setting, the sand around the pier billowed up and glowed and the sand on the ground was riddled with canyon-like indentations from feet that gave off shadows, while at night, the Ferris wheel glowed! I couldn't get any photos of Yuna though with he glaring lights, and the video was too big to send from my phone.

My tights from Asos and the pier floorboards...watch out for splinters

Accidental photo, but still nice, I think

Me making a weird face featuring panda eyes, haha!

I hope things are still summery for you~

New Things

Wow that was a terrible title...please bear with me! But it's appropriate as I have, one, gotten a new haircut, and two, a new phone! I got an HTC One....previously I've been using a little "dinosaur" as others have called it.... One of those flippy phones with actual button...*gasp!* It was a fine phone, but I was due for an update, and my Nikon coolpix has been an absolute chickenbutt when it comes to focussing...and this phone is known to have an incredible camera function, which the pictures below can demonstrate. As for my haircut, I went to the amazing training salon for Toni and Guy, and got a super fun and cheap haircut. The people were really nice there, too. Later on I'm going back for a dip dye(peachy pink)but for now I got an inverted curly bob! So different!

so short! Also, a new shirt from Ann Taylor Loft. This photo is also my new blog bio photo

This was a camera test....I just took a little photo of a tree in the lot of an oil-change shop....you know,      for cars...check out the Instagram worthy filter!

Adorable "spa water"...cucumber, mint, lemon....go try it~

The back is so curly! P.S. I didn't dye my hair darker, it's just wet

Organic berries from a market...with fresh homemade whipped cream! I drew on it with the phone's "draw" function

An outfit photo from a few days ago...super light dress from a shop on Abbot Kinney...16 dollars! Reminds me of Scandinavia...also a little necklace with a stylized "E" from a friend!

One of my many tea mugs...a little guy from Hakubondo, a Japanese book shop

Another photo of the dress. The top is a thin material and the skirt is actually two light layers of presumably, linen

Lastly, candy....I love strawberry puffs!

Have a lovely Summer day, I hope!

Hiiiii~ I just have some shots from around my room that I managed to tidy up! To randomly update,I've had this headache, but things are alright! I still need to do some more summer reading work...booooo...and I should start sewing but I'm hoping it won't be too atrocious ( I got my machine back, and I've never really done much sewing with it...) Hmmmm, how to be productive in summer? Haha! So yeah. Here are some photos, though!

Red, White, and Blue

Well now, this post has very little to do with the 4th of July, which by the title, you might assume. On that day(America's b-day) I literally just ate ice cream, saw an funny little parade at 9 AM, and talked to friends. But, this post has been so named, for color scheme!

These strawberries(aka best fruit ever) were so sweet~

My patriotic outfit....those f21 dungarees I keep wearing, and a tee that says "history" from a stand...it has a sparkly eagle!

See what I mean with the red, white, and blue? Drinkin ' a Pepsi~

More berries! Strawberries are such a summer fruit!

Coke or Pepsi ya'll...today it's a Pepsi...

Hope you liked the pictures! Have a relaxing day, ideally....

Talking Loud, Not Saying Much

That was a Titanium quote....you, know, the David Guetta song...I just thought that it was just such nice phrasing....and i'm sure it's relatable to many. I think it's a meaningful quote, but honestly, it has very little to do with the pictures that shall follow. Well, I just thought the title sounded dreamy and would match a photo-spam of nice pictures I took recently...

Recently, I've been trying to be productive: ie. read, draw, practice Spanish or yoga, do my reading notes.....and balance that with summery relaxation... nothing very interesting, but generally, everything is quite nice and summer-like.

a light in a cafe that I liked...it had a floating cube of light

random looming structure...

eggs...small and speckled, maybe quail? At the farmer's market.
