Unif!

Hello? Sorry for the telephone-selfie!
I found a great drop-waist dress at The Buffalo Exchange. It has a cute school-uniform-ish look with a pleated skirt and collar. Turns out, it was from...Unif! Of course, I was excited, because it cost about 25 dollars, when the originals are often in the hundreds!

The only downside note is that powder, like flour or chalk from a bench will snag onto he fabric, which can be easily
brushed off with your hands, however.

                                                        Creme colored collar ....alliteration

pleats

creme laser cut forever 21 flats

Excuse my awkwardness
*note: paired with silver bracelet, velvety headband, gold hair tie

On a side note.....

Breaaaaaaddddddd... And olive oil with balsamic~
Bread's a nice post closer, right?

Moving, Visual, Audial, Inspiration

I've been watching movies/films...whatever you'd like to call them. I guess I'll summarize in a few sentences the most recent one I've seen.

Frances Ha

Watched via Netflix. A simple and comfortable movie with awkward charm. The black and white may or may not have been necessary. About living life as best as you can.
I enjoy the fact that the story really embraces platonic love. Sometimes you get tired of love songs, love stories, and l'amour in the air.
Frances speaks in a really honest and erratic way that's awkwardly enough, sort of poetic.

I know that not everyone enjoyed the movie, and I can see how the pacing could be a little iffy, but to me, it really deserved at least four stars. I like Frances. She dances in the streets and doesn't forget to keep believing in change for her
own sake.

I've also been reading BOOKS,per usual, in addition to movies.
Cupcakes and Perks

I'm currently reading The Perks of Being a Wallflower.
I saw the movie, which I quite liked, so I went to the library for the book, as I'd seen some great quotes lying around on Pinterest and tumblr! which I admit! I frequent periodically!

Cuuuuuuppcakee....Cookies n cream!
Food is totally inspiring. I said it once, I'll say it again.

Ink sketch(excuse the quality) based on Russian Vogue Dec. 2012....saw on Pinterest

Marimekko website

Wow, fabulous prints right? If you don't already know, Marimekko is a famous brand from Finland, known for its fun, Scandinavian-chic apparel and home decor. Unikko, the
famous print of abstract-like poppies, is having its 50th year!
In addition, the brand, usually pricy and a bit hard to buy, is having a collaboration with Bannana Republic! Marimekko came to mind in today's outfit, so I thought I'd express my enthusiasm for it! Don't the flower shapes on this romper remind you a bit of it?

*Mind the face.*

Monthly Inspiration!

What's inspiring you all this month? Me? Glad you asked, and if you don't care, well here you go.

First: Gingham

Here we have a collage I made in procreate( I'll post an app review soon). I started seeing this print popping up a lot, but I've always appreciated this print, and am glad for the new opportunities to get my hands on this trendy design reminiscent of picnics and English school girls. The top left skirt and the blue dress beneath were snipets from the Japanese Seventeen magazine, a great inspo source.  I love how the first black skirt pairs with a classic sweater for that scholarly look! Next to it is a lovely dress from The White Pepper. The brand is a gorgeous British one that has very cute dresses in a breezy, slouchy cut as you can see. The print can be small, as above....or LARGE:

Notice: double gingham is very cute for a bright look

Suffragettes

Well done! Well done! Well done.....Sister Suffragette!
Do we all remember Mrs. Banks from Mary Poppins? She was a British Suffragette, who was advocating votes for women in the movie! Suffragettes have been inspiring me lately, as his area if history is pretty interesting, and very important! I recently read the book "A Mad Wicked Folly", by Sharron Biggs Waller, which is about an early 1900s girl
trying to find her identity and independence as a female artist. Suffrage is a theme in the book, and the escapades of these tough women is focused on.

Speculoos Cookie and Cocoa Spread

Yummmmm

If you're in Trader Joe's, buy this for a sweet treat! It can be spread like frosting, but a spoon and your mouth will be fine! It has swirls of chocolate and a cookie tasting....well, butter....batter...I don't even know what it is, but it's good. I mean, guys, how is food not inspiring?
